Foods to be taken with caution (meat)
Excess consumption of meat poses some health risks
(cardiovascular diseases, cancer formation, etc). Meat consumption in moderate
is good for children and malnourished individuals. It poses a lot of health dangers
to well-fed adults. When the body is deficient in protein, moderate intake is
advised.
Meat and its fats are extremely deficient in antioxidants.
This makes the blood cholesterol more prone oxidation and blood vessel damage.
Eating some animal’s fat can promote the development of
cancer, and also can dispose someone to develop cancer.
Frying meat with oil can worsen the situation because the
oil becomes saturated coupled with saturated fat content of the meat.
It is advisable to serve meat with vegetable.
Red meat has higher quantity of cholesterol than white meat.
Choose meat with as little fat as possible, like skinless poultry( chicken,
turkey, etc)
Meat is slow to digest resulting in constipation, therefore
is good to take fruits and vegetables which can encourage digestion.
High consumption of meat aggravates the diseases of gout(
painful toes, fingers and joints).
Meat consumption can be associated with increased aggression,
violence and addiction. This is because meat contains a central nervous system
stimulant called hypoxanthine. This
is associated with sense of vitality and aggression; also cause addiction
that’s why someone that consumes meat a lot hardly finds it difficult to stop
the habit.
High meat consumption places one at a higher risk of
diabetes. That is why vegetarians hardly suffer from diabetes mellitus.
RECOMMENDATIONS

Take less meat and move towards taking fishes. Fishes are less in
salt contents and they have unsaturated fats which the body needs

Take meats with vegetables because it reduces the absorption of
cholesterol.

Regular exercise is important for someone that consumes a lot of
meat.
